ORLANDO, Fla. — After a nearly two-year closure, Poseidon’s Fury has reopened at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

What You Need To Know

  • Poseidon's Fury reopens at Universal's Islands of Adventure

  • The attraction temporarily closed in August 2020

  • The exterior was repainted during the closure

Located in the Lost Continent area of the park, the long-running attraction temporarily closed in August 2020 and sat behind construction walls in the months that followed.

During the closure, it also underwent a refurbishment that included repainting the show building’s exterior and the sign at the entrance.

On Monday, with the construction walls down, visitors were once again able to venture inside the temple.

“UNSEAL THE TEMPLE,” Universal Orlando tweeted.

The indoor walk-through attraction is a live show mixed with special effects such as lasers, projections, water and fire. Visitors follow an archeologist guide, going from scene to scene through the temple ruins. During the expedition, they will find themselves caught in a battle between Poseidon and the evil Lord Darkenon.

The reopening of Poseidon’s Fury comes just as the spring break crowds hit the theme parks. Over at Universal Studios Florida, Revenge of the Mummy is closed for a lengthy refurbishment. It’s expected to reopen in late summer.
