ORLANDO, Fla. – Universal Orlando employees—known as team members—who are vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer have to wear face masks.

What You Need To Know

  •  Universal Orlando updates face mask policy for vaccinated workers

  •  Vaccinated workers no longer required to masks indoors

  • Workers who are not vaccinated must continue to wear masks while on property

Previously they were required to wear masks in indoor "onstage" settings.

In an update to its policy, Universal said vaccinated workers will not be required to wear masks "onstage, backstage, indoors or outdoors." They can still continue to wear a mask if they prefer.

Universal is still requiring workers who are not vaccinated to wear masks at all times while on property—whether working inside or outside. Unvaccinated workers can remove their masks when eating or drinking or when they are “alone inside a private office.”

The latest policy change comes amid a lower community positivity rate, according to Universal.

In August, Universal announced that it would require its workers to share their vaccination status with the company.

“We have carefully considered this policy and believe it is the next right step for us,” Universal said in an email to workers at the time.

Since May, Universal has not required visitors to wear masks indoors, only encouraging them to.
