ORLANDO, Fla. – Jurassic World VelociCoaster, Universal's newest ride, has opened, bringing more thrills to Islands of Adventure.

What You Need To Know

The roller coaster is based on the movie franchise and the team paid a lot of attention to detail.

Yes, VelociCoaster has thrills. But before guests even ride, there are plenty of neat references and throwbacks throughout the queue--both to the film franchises and Universal Orlando.

Here are some Easter eggs guests can look for at Jurassic World VelociCoaster.

“Dueling” Raptors at the Entrance

As guests make their way to VelociCoaster, before they enter the attraction, they're likely to pass by a pair of raptor statues. These raptors, which face each other, are a nod to a bygone attraction--Dueling Dragons (later known as Dragon Challenge). That attraction closed to make way for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

Raptors on the Run

One section of the queue features windows that let guests see the second coaster launch in real-time. But the effect that happens after the coaster train passes is the one guests should look out for. Once the train has zipped by, animated raptors appear in hot pursuit.

Books by Different Film Characters

In the Raptor Training Room section of the queue is a cubby area filled with various trinkets. Upon closer inspection, fans might notice a couple of books written by characters from the films. On one shelf sits a book by Dr. Ian Malcolm (played by Jeff Goldblum). On another shelf sits a book by Dr. Alan Grant (played by Sam Neill).

Attractions Posters

Near the locker area, along one of the walls, are a series of posters that reference various Universal attractions. There's a poster for the new ride VelociCoaster. Pteranodon Flyers, River Adventure also get their own posters.

Those are just some of the Easter eggs at Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
