ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the highly-anticipated Star Wars-themed hotel experience, will be opening at Walt Disney World sometime in the not-so-distant future.

  • Disney World president Jeff Vahle shared photos from inside on the cabins

  • The themed hotel experience will let guests live out their own Star Wars story

  • An official opening date has not yet been announced

As fans await a date and more details about the two-night “immersive adventure,” Disney executives are sharing new images from inside the hotel, which is still under construction.

Disney World president Jeff Vahle and Disney Parks chairman Josh D’Amaro toured the hotel to check on the progress.

“Inside we visited The Atrium and looked out The Bridge windows to what will be a galaxy far, far way,” Vahle wrote in a post on his Instagram account.

Vahle and D’Amaro also visited the cabins, with Vahle sharing images from inside the room.

In one photo, Vahle is seen standing beside the padded bunk bed (pods). In the other, he and D’Amaro are seen standing next one of the windows that will give guests a “view of space.”

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is designed to be more of an interactive experience rather than a typical hotel stay. Featuring a cruise ship-style model, will arrive at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal before embarking on their two-night adventure. A launch pod will take them to the Halcyon cruiser, where they’ll find their rooms (cabins), a lounge and other exclusive amenities.

During their stay, guests will be able to live out their own Star Wars story, coming into contact with Star Wars characters, learning how to wield a lightsaber and even visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for excursion.

Reservations for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser were initially set to open up last year, but that didn’t happen.
