ORLANDO, Fla. — IAAPA is adding three people to its 2020 Hall of Fame class, including a Disney Legend.

The newest inductees include Imagineer Tony Baxter, Disney executive Greg Hale and Mats Wedin, former chairman of Sweden’s Liseberg amusement park.

Baxter worked for Disney for more than forty years. His list of projects includes popular attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Star Tours. Baxter was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2013.

Hale is Vice President and Chief Safety Officer for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a role he’s had since 2002.  Wedin previously served as IAAPA chairman in 2007.

The IAAPA Hall of Fame was established to, “honor legends and pioneers from the global attractions industry,” according to the IAAPA website.

The IAAPA Expo is typically held in November at the Orange County Convention Center. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the in-person event will be held online this year. The IAAPA Expo Virtual Education Conference will be held November 16-18. The Hall of Fame presentation is scheduled for November 17.
