ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – As part of Epcot's multi-year transformation, the theme park will get new entertainment offerings, including the nighttime spectacular "Harmonious."

  • Disney shares behind-the-scenes look at Harmonious
  • The new nighttime spectacular is set to debut at Epcot later this year
  • The show will feature music, moving fountains, lasers and pyrotechnics

The show will feature music, moving fountains, colorful lights, lasers, pyrotechnics, and floating set pieces.

As work continues on the show, Disney has released a video that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the show.  The video shows the barges for Harmonious arriving at Epcot. The barges are the platforms that act as "stages" for the different show elements.

"The effects in this show are stunning, we call them our characters," said Steven Davison, creative executive of parades & spectaculars for Disney Parks Live Entertainment, in the video. "And they're going to come to life on a series of barges put out into the lagoon."

"We call it a compass," he added. "In the center, is this great gravity screen surrounded by four of the barges that have giant LED screens."

Harmonious will be the largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney park, according to Disney.

The new show is scheduled to debut later this year on the World Showcase Lagoon. In the meantime, visitors can enjoy the limited-time nighttime show "Epcot Forever."
