ORLANDO, Fla. — The pop-up Halloween attraction Dark Horizon: Point of No Return has revealed the lineup of haunted houses for its Orlando event.

  • Haunted houses revealed for Dark Horizon: Point of No Return
  • Ghostship, Murder Island and Vodou among houses
  • Themed zones inspired by Florida's dark history and lore

The three houses will be Ghostship, Murder Island, and Vodou. Each house will be located in a themed zone that takes its inspiration from Florida's dark history and lore.

"We really like to dive into local legends and history," said Charity Hill, co-producer of Dark Horizon, in a news release.

Ghostship is located in The Port zone, which is modeled after a 1700s-era pirates port. The house will transport visitors to a disease-infested, loot-filled vessel. The ship is filled with deranged pirates led by Captain Killigrew, the most feared female pirate in history.

In The Port, visitors will also find the Bootlegger Bungalows, Walk the Plank Pub & Pier, Siren Stage, Dark Horizon gift shop, Shark Bites, Panic! 4-D Maze Experience and entrance to the marketplace.

Murder Island will feature the tale of Edgar "Bloody" Watson, Florida's first serial killer. Located in The Glades Zone, the house will put visitors face-to-face with "the brutality that shadowed the 10,000 island in the late 1800s."

The Glades is also home to the VIP Storm Cellar, Outpost Pub, and Gator Grub.

The Vodou haunted house will be located in The Village zone, which is under the enchantment of Mambo Cecile, a high priestess who has awakened an ancient spirit.

This area is also where visitors can find the Sacred Circle Stage and the Shelter Patio.

In addition to the houses and zones, Dark Horizon will also feature two live stages and hundreds of monsters.

Dark Horizon: Point of No Return will run select nights October 4 to November 2 behind Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites—Waterpark.

General admission to the event starts at $34.
