ANAHEIM, Calif.The Simpsons, the long-running animated series, will make its first appearance at this year's D23 Expo.

Attendees can learn about the series upcoming season during a panel on August 24 in the Expo Arena. Show creator Matt Groening, executive producers Al Jean and Matt Selman, supervising director Mike B. Anderson and stars Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith will be in attendance.

D23 says those who attend the panel can expect "lots of surprised, including an exclusive Simpsons collectible item."

After the panel, there will also be a one-hour autograph session with Groening.

Fans will also have a chance to meet Bart, Lisa and the rest of The Simpsons on the convention floor.

Disney acquired The Simpsons and other Fox entertainment assets in a $71.3 billion deal earlier this year.

In addition to The Simpson panel, the convention will also feature a Disney Legends award ceremony, a Walt Disney Studios presentation and a Disney Parks presentation.

The D23 Expo takes place August 23-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
