ORLANDO, Fla. -- Disney World is adding another hotel to its ever-growing roster.

  • Hotel tower at Swan and Dolphin to be called The Cove
  • Will include 349 rooms, a restaurant and meeting space
  • The Cove sheduled to be completed in 2020

A ground-breaking ceremony was held Tuesday for The Cove, a new hotel tower that will be at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.

Marriott International, which operates the Swan and Dolphin, and Tishman Realty and Metlife, which own the hotel attended the ceremony.

The Cove will include 349 rooms, bringing the total number of rooms at the Swan and Dolphin to 2,600 once complete.

The 14-story hotel tower will also include a restaurant, a cocktail lobby bar and more than 22,000 square feet of meeting space.

"This is going to be a great enhancement to our resort, and [I'm] looking forward to everybody coming out and visiting," Swan and Dolphin general manager Fred Sawyers said.

The Cove is one of the latest hotel projects at Disney World. A Star Wars-themed resort will be built near Disney's Hollywood Studios, where Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to debut next year. Disney is also working on a nature-inspired resort called Reflections - A Disney Lakeside Lodge, the new Riviera Resort and an expansion at Disney's Coronado Resort.

The Cove is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
