The 9A State Championship Game was an all-Central Florida affair for only the fourth time in FHSAA and the first time since 1997.
Either way, Central Florida would be celebrating a title.
Timber Creek made sure they were doing the celebrating. The Wolves defeated Orange City University 5-0 to claim the school's first baseball title.
The game got off to a slow pace, with both teams blowing scoring opportunities.

Scary moment for University in the second when short stop Jesus Ruiz turned his ankle trying to run out a grounder on the first base. Ruiz laid on the ground momentarily before he walked into the dugout. He returned to the field in the next inning.
University put runners on first and third in the top of the third, but Timber Creek ended the threat with a strikeout.
The Wolves increased their lead in the third off Parker Smith's RBI triple to center. Smith got to trot home when a throwing error landed the ball in the Timber Creek dugout.
The Titans made a pitching change in the fourth, replacing starter Cameron Robinson with Nathan Peden, who retired three-straight batters.
University had more opportunities to score in the fifth, with one out and runners on second and third, but back-to-back fly outs ended their inning.
Timber Creek's Preston Schumacher was solid on the mound, nearly pitching a complete game shutout. He had to come off with two outs in the seventh because of the FHSAA pitch count rule.
