ORLANDO, Fla. — The Museum of Illusions Orlando at ICON Park is touted as an “edutainment” destination.

With locations in nearly 20 counties around the world, the museum is known for bringing optical magic to life through walk-through exhibits that entice you to step outside the laws of nature.

Employees like Lee Dececco guide guests through a plethora of interactive experiences that are selfie-setups. That’s because you’re meant to get tripped up — and rightfully confused — within the world of illusions.

“We also have the opportunity with illusions, in general, to teach kids the dynamics of motion and science and math and geometry,” Dececco said. “All of these amazing things are leading the future.”

For Teacher Appreciation Week, Central Florida teachers will get a free day at the museum to experience the world of illusions.

“They’re (the) people who create, engage, and teach and usher in a new generation of scientists and doctors, mathematicians,” Dececco said.

Teacher Appreciation Week at the Museum of Illusions Orlando runs May 6-10. Teachers can show their badge to get in for free.
