The surf is way up in Cocoa Beach this weekend for the Beach and Boards Festival.

An estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people are expected to descend on Shepard Park for the sixth annual event.

Not only are there great surfing competitions, but volleyball, standup paddle-boarding and more.

Local hotels are booked, and restaurants are packed.

The weather is perfect for this year's happenings, and the waves are as big as organizers have seen them in a couple years.

It's weather-driven, we have a little bit of everything," said Mitch Varnes with Beach and Board Festival. "Skateboarding, kite surfing, wake-boarding, surfing. Beach volleyball. But, the weekend is supposed to be a little bit warmer and it should fill up pretty nice with the crowds."

Beach and Boards Festival runs through Sunday. Get all the details on the festival's website.
