BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year teacher in Brevard County was arrested Sunday after allegedly attempting to meet a minor for sexual relations, according to a press release from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office charged Timothy Liscum, a Satellite High School teacher, with “use of a computer to solicit a child and travel to meet after use of a computer to lure a child.” The 64-year-old man is currently being held at the Brevard County jail on a $70,000 bond.

A complaint alleged that Liscum was communicating through an electronic device with a student at the school, the release stated.

Officials said the student became concerned about the conversation with Liscum and told another student, as well as a trusted teacher. The student’s parents were then contacted by school administrators.

A deputy with the Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking Unit went undercover as the student and continued online conversations with Liscum who “solicited the student to meet for the purpose of having sexual relations,” according to the release.

Liscum was taken into custody when he arrived at the pre-determined location.
