Investigators say a Melbourne man's arrest in Georgia led police to the bodies of his aunt and uncle in their Melbourne home on Tuesday.

Officials said that 31-year-old James Green was confronted by officers in Pooler, Ga., after a local church representative reported that he was acting suspicious.

According to a Melbourne Police Department release, when he was approached, Green "quickly attempted to get away from the officers and into the car he had been driving."

The officers detained him and later charged Green with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after allegedly finding a handgun in the vehicle. He was also charged with resisting arrest, officials said.

Investigators determined that the car actually belonged to Alford G. Baker, 63, and requested police in Melbourne conduct a welfare check on the Tanglewood Lane home he shared with his 61-year-old sister, Teresa A. Baker.

When they arrived, officers reported finding the pair dead inside and officials say "both victims' deaths are considered a homicide," the Melbourne Police Department release said.

Detectives said Green had been living at the home in Melbourne with his aunt and uncle at the time of their deaths.

MPD officials say the investigation into Alford and Teresa Baker's deaths is ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed against Green.
