COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Once again Santa is back hitting the waves this year on Christmas Eve before heading out to deliver presents.

The 12th annual "Surfing Santas" charity event is coming to Cocoa Beach for another live event on the water in front of Coconuts on the Beach.

Hundreds of costumed surfers of all ages will put on their moves for some 10,000 spectators.

Surfing Santas started in 2009 as a small gathering and over the years has grown into an internationally known event.

"I've heard people say Surfing Santas is legendary, I've heard people say it's their new family tradition to come to the beach December 24th," said Surfing Santas founder George Trossett.

Over the years, Surfing Santas has raised more than $200,000 for charity.

The event will take place Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. until noon.
