Satellite High School Senior Aiden Savage says better late than never.

“It's supposed to be this date, then it gets pretty close to that date, so then they change it and changed it and keep changing it,” he said.

Aiden Savage was set to celebrate many things this year.

“I was excited and like let’s go birthday time and have friends to celebrate with and then corona hit,” he said

As his mom Linda Savage explains throughout all the disappointing news, he kept staying positive.

“All the hype building towards spring break, their senior trip and already buying their prom tickets so there was all this energy and hype but then the rug get pulled from under them,” she said.

As of yesterday, his new graduation date is July 18 at 5 p.m. According to Brevard Public Schools, each student will get two ticket for guests. On graduation day they'll have their temperatures checked and sit six feet apart.

“It's going to be different but at least we still get our diplomas at least,” he said.

Linda Savage admits she's probably more excited than Aiden for the ceremony. She finally gets to see him graduate high school and move on to the next chapter of his adult life.

“I'm excited he finally gets to walk the stage, it’s finally it,” she said, smiling.

Brevard Public Schools plans to hold graduation ceremonies for each of its high schools from July 18- 25.
