Spectrum News 13 talked exclusively to the man attacked first during the dangerous spree.

"I had my keys in my hand to unlock it and get in," said Mica Stubbe, who spoke to us minutes after being released from Parrish Medical Center.

He was making his usual caffeine stop at the BP station on Garden Street, preparing for his workday.

Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, he was getting back in the car when a man approached from the side of the building.

"He came walking up, and I kind of assumed he was going to ask for a cigarette or something like that," Stubbe said.

He was mistaken.

"He pulls a gun out of his pocket and says, 'Give me your keys,’" he recalled.

Stubbe says he was taken aback. That's when he says the man pushed him up against the car and put the gun in his face.

"Obviously he was frustrated and began wailing on me, hitting me," he told us.

Stubbe says he was struck in the head 15 to 20 times as the man's accomplice managed to get in the car.

He started pushing and hitting back, but the larger man picked him up and threw him to the ground.

The keys never left Stubbe's hand, until he threw them as far away as he could.

Both men went to find them, until the first attacker returned and pointed the gun at him through the car window.

"As soon as they got done with me, they ran into the hotel parking lot," Stubbe said.

Investigators say the pair is wanted on fraud charges out of Indian River County were headed on Interstate 95 when their vehicle broke down.

Moments later they went after Stubbe.

After the attack, the men pistol whipped the driver of a truck next door at the Titusville Executive Garden Hotel, stole the truck and sped north on 95.

Seconds later the truck crashed into a semi and rolled over. Somehow the men were able to carjack a second victim on that scene.

Stubbe is still shaken by the attack, but somehow doesn't believe these men did what they did for kicks.

"That's pure, unadulterated desperation right there," he said.

Titusville Police says they are looking for a 2020 white Chevy Malibu.
