ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed Monday morning after being hit by a SunRail train in Orange County, according to authorities.

The incident happened at the railroad tracks at the intersection of East Oak Ridge Road and South Orange Avenue.

The train was traveling south when it hit the man. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking with his back to the train.

The conductor issued warning sounds to get the man's attention, but the man did not move, according to troopers.

The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The train involved in the crash had 18 passengers on board; it was delayed while troopers investigated.
