COCOA, Fla. — A week after a mother of four went missing, she has been found dead, leaving a family grieving and asking why.

The family trying to keep the four children together because they've already lost too much but they are in a financial strain especially since they have two funerals to plan.

"We are asking the community to help keep her family together," said Scott-Devoe. "These kids are her family."

Police are calling it a homicide and the family is not only dealing with that loss, they are also dealing with another loss.

Shortly after 31-year-old Tashaun Jackson was found just off of Deer Park Rd east of Nova Rd. in Osceola County, her father Charles Jackson was hit by a car and died on 4000 block of King Street.

Sh’Mika Scott-Devoe, Tashaun’s cousin says the family had to break the news to Tashaun Jackson's four kids ages ranging from 11 to as young as 1.

A conversation the family dreading, now those kids also missing another family member, their grandfather Charles Jackson.

"Especially now, when they ask for her, you have to remind them, she is not coming back," said Scott-Devoe.

They believe her disappearance could be connected to a deposition she gave two weeks ago in an attempted rape case.

Throughout Saturday, police continued canvasing the neighborhood. Authorities are calling it a very active investigation and the family is confident those responsible will be brought to justice.

There was an active scene earlier today just a couple of miles where Jackson went missing, but police saying they cannot release any information if that is related to the mothers disappearance.
