ORLANDO, Fla. — As family and friends gather this week to mourn a man who they say tried to fight off home invaders in Orange County, investigators have released photos of "persons of interest" in the case.

A public viewing for Alex Correa was scheduled for midday Monday at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home.

Investigators say Correa, 20, was killed January 14 at a home on Simbor Avenue, a few miles from the University of Central Florida.

Family members said Correa made sure to hide three young children who were inside the house and did everything he could do to fight off the men who broke into the home.

During the home invasion, a shot was fired. Correa died at a hospital.

On Monday, the Orange County Sheriff's Office released images of two "persons of interest" in the case, as well as a picture of a car they said was seen in the area of the shooting. Detectives need your help identifying the people and finding the car, which is thought to be a 2008-2012 black Nissan Altima.

Meanwhile, Correa's parents are begging the public for help in finding his killers.

“It hurts me that I will no longer have my son because four selfish men that had nothing else to do with their lives. (They) just wanted to hurt a household,” said Correa's mother, Stacy Deligne.

The family said Correa was a graduate of Aloma High School, and he wanted to be an EMT.

"If you know anything, come forward," said William Correa, Alex's father. "Stop being a coward and come forward, because these people do not belong, they're cowards, they don’t belong out there in society, they really don’t.

"I wish I had a million dollars to give somebody, but I don’t have it. If I had a million dollars, I would put it out there on top of the table. Whoever knows anything, I’m sure they’ll come forward," William Correa said.
