ORLANDO, Fla. — A pedestrian has died Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle in a State Road 408 hit-and-run crash, according to Orlando Police.

The crash happened on S.R. 408 at Crystal Lake Drive around 7:37 p.m. on the west side of the bridge.

Orlando Police says the pedestrian was on the 408 when they were hit by a white vehicle that did not stop.

They were taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police say the driver may have been in an older model, white F150 pickup with a ladder, along with front-end damage.

Eastbound 408 traffic from Bumby Avenue to Crystal Lake was shut down for hours as authorities investigated the traffic homicide.
