The items are being collected for employees of the Transportation Security Administration, the Customs and Border Protection and the Federal Aviation Administration, who are all working without pay because of the government shutdown.

Other airports, including Tampa International Airport, are opening pantries for their federal workers as well.

Orlando International Airport is hosting a donation drive on Wednesday, with collections happening between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Wednesday morning, and then from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening.

The airport is looking for new, unopened non-perishable food items, toiletries and baby supplies. No other items, including cash, gift cards or clothing, will be accepted.

Any members of the public who want to donate can drop the items off at the valet area on the departure level of Terminal A. Airport employees will be stationed there to accept donations.
