A 19-year-old DeLand man has been charged with sexually abusing two girls, who are now 5 and 6 years old, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

  • Orion S. Sullivan facing 2 counts of sexual battery
  • He is being held without bail

On Monday afternoon, Orion S. Sullivan is facing two counts of sexual battery of a victim less than 12 years old, the Sheriff's Office shared in a Facebook post on its page.

According to deputies, the two young girls both gave detailed accounts of the abuse they allegedly faced.

And their statements, including physical assessments, showed that Sullivan repeatedly abused the girls sexually, the Sheriff's Office stated.

Back in 2014, Sullivan, who lives on Grace Street, was interviewed because he was a suspect of sexually abusing one of the girls, who was 1 year old at the time, according to deputies.

The then 16-year-old Sullivan denied the allegations and his mother "ultimately terminated the interview," the Sheriff's Office stated.

That case was suspended because of a lack of evidence, deputies stated.

Sullivan is at the Volusia County Brand Jail, where he is being held without bond.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Child Exploitation Unit is asking any other possible victims to call: 1-386-323-3574.
