  • FWC: Gators may roam in search of water

Officers responded to a call along University Lane from neighbors worrying about an alligator in the neighborhood.

Cocoa police says the officers found a 9-foot alligator at the door of one of the apartments.

The officers reached out to the state for a gator trapper, then helped the trapper remove the gator.

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, gators may roam during warm weather in search of water.

Next time this reptile might want a better navi-gator.
