A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for residents in parts of Melbourne, Indian Harbour Beach and Satellite Beach.

  • Boil water notice issued after water main break
  • Beachside residents between Wallace Ave. and Pineda Causeway affected
  • Crews making repairs at Burns Boulevard and Bay Drive

A water main break at Burns Boulevard and Bay Drive prompted the notice Sunday morning.

Officials closed the roadway while crews worked to make repairs.

The notice affects Melbourne water customers who live beachside between Wallace Avenue and the Pineda Causeway.

Officials are advising residents to boil all water used for drinking, washing or brushing teeth.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until tests determine the water is safe to drink.

The notice does not affect mainland customers.
