Tershia Richmond, 20, of Georgia, was also charged with possession of stolen property and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.

The arrest was made after Lake County Sheriff’s Office says two students were sent to the Eustis High’s administration office — shortly after end-of-school-day dismissal — for reportedly fighting.

The Sheriff’s Office says when School Resource Deputy Sheriff Adam Tytler was on his way to the office, he noticed Richmond, allegedly upset over the fight between the students, making her way from the office to a vehicle.

According to the deputy, Richmond allegedly threatened one of the students and said she would get a gun and shoot him. She is reportedly a family friend of one of the students and does not attend Eustis High.

Tytler said he followed Richmond to the vehicle and saw her take a handgun out, place it into her pocket, and head back to the high school.

The Sheriff’s Office says he immediately took out his firearm and ordered Richmond to the ground. He subsequently took her into custody.

Authorities also discovered that Richmond’s handgun was reportedly stolen out of South Carolina.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges may be possible, deputies say.
