ORLANDO, Fla. — Warmer air has returned to Central Florida, and is set to last through the weekend into the start of next week.

Overnight, it will remain mild with lows in the mid- to upper 60s with warmer readings near 70 at the coast. A few showers are possible, especially north and west of Interstate 4.

A front will slowly approach the state on Sunday, keeping the steadier rain over north Florida along with a few stronger thunderstorms. This setup will enable a continued chance of scattered showers across Central Florida with Marion and Flagler counties slightly more favored to see rain. Highs will be increasingly warmer, in the low to mid-80s, rivaling some existing record highs.

Plenty of clouds and an occasional shower will remain in the forecast through Monday. A better chance for rain will occur on Tuesday as the front finally drops through. This system will be responsible for a noted drop in temperatures again by the middle of the upcoming work week.

Those in small craft are encouraged to use caution as southwest winds remain breezy, between 10 to 15 knots. At the beaches, the setup will considered poor to fair for using a surfboard; water temperatures have dipped to between 63 and 69 degrees.
