NORTH CAROLINA -- One person is dead following a salmonella outbreak linked to raw turkey. The person lived in California.

The CDC says the outbreak strain has been found in raw turkey pet food, live turkeys and many kinds of raw turkey products. A single, common supplier of the products has not been identified.

The symptoms usually develop about 12 to 72 hours after being exposed to the bacteria, and last four to seven days.
