  • Richardson Roofing LLC offered to lend a hand

MaryAnn Crocker’s home was filled with hammering and drilling.

“Stephanie, do you hear the noise? Don, the noise on the roof? It reminds me of reindeers coming at Christmas time, and I have to tell you this (pointing at Don Richardson) is Santa Claus,” she said.

Christmas came a little early for Crocker this year. She’s getting a brand new roof. She’s needed one since Hurricane Irma.

Spectrum News first brought you her story earlier this year — Crocker told us she hired a roofing company that didn’t keep its end of the deal after she paid for their services. However, Richardson Roofing LLC out of Pasco County saw our report in Tampa and decided to lend a hand.

“For somebody to come and take advantage of a nice elderly lady like in her condition, it’s not fair,” Richardson said.

Crocker is overwhelmed with emotion.

“I am just overjoyed, a roof. A roof since Irma is being put in my house, and a good roof,” Crocker explained.

Richardson said not all roofing companies are the same, and that’s why he wanted to help make things right.

“I forgive that other man. I forgive him, but I still have hopes that he’ll have a good heart and send me back my money,” Crocker added.

Another company, Suncoast Roofers Supply, donated the materials for this project.
