MELBOURNE, Florida – A Melbourne company is collecting donations for Hurricane Michael victims in the Florida Panhandle.

  • Flooring company collected donations for Hurricane Michael victims
  • Company has extended hours for those who want to drop off items
  • Workers are also packing boxes that will go to to Florida Panhandle

Workers at Classic Floors Ferrazzano are busy.

"It's devastating if you look at the picture from up there," Rhonda Huckabee says.

The group decided Tuesday to ask for donation to help those affected by the hurricane. And quickly, food, toiletry items, baby supplies and towels came rolling in. That was before they had time to figure out a way to get it there.

"We've been reacting quickly because we just found transportation for this weekend," Huckabee says.

The company got in touch with the American Legion 12th District, which covers Brevard, Indian River and St. Lucie counties.

Several trucks will be heading up Saturday with supplies, including what Ferrazzano collects.

But now there's a push to pack the truck.

The business is extending hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the next two days for anyone wanting to drop items off.

Every little bit helps.

"The sooner the better for donations," Huckabee says.

Those interested in helping can drop off items at Classic Floors Ferrazzano at 725 Silver Palm Avenue.
