COCOA, Florida — The human remains found in the Indian River Monday by a passerby has been identified, according to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the body is that of Zachary Stickle, 19, of Cocoa.

His body was spotted floating in the river by a passerby around 1:30 p.m. near the Hubert Humphrey Causeway. Deputies found the body after searching the area by boat.

Authorities say there were no obvious signs of trauma. Stickle reportedly had his personal property and valuables on him.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday by the Brevard County Medical Examiner to determine to circumstances surrounding Stickle’s death.
