TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay voters are trying to educate themselves before the November election.

As part of an effort to provide information, informal meetings have been scheduled at the Wright Gourmet House at 1200 South Dale Mabry Hwy in South Tampa.

It's called "Coffee With the Candidates."

"We want everyone in the community to know what their legislators handle, what they're doing and what their positions are," said organizer Teresa Potter.

The most recent meeting focused on the 13 constitutional amendments that will appear on the ballot. A representative from the League of Women Voters was there to provide answers.

And there were lots of questions.

"I think they're very confusing for one thing," said voter Robin Kennedy about the amendments.

The next "Coffee with the Candidates" will take place Sept. 25. And right before the election, organizers said they will have a "Review of the Ballot" for anyone who has questions.

The event is open to the public.

"We're hoping to get the community more involved in what's happening," Potter said.
