DEBARY, Fla. — A 17-year-old was hit by a vehicle in DeBary Tuesday afternoon after she got off a school bus, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to a crash report, a school bus was stopped along DeBary Avenue dropping students off, when the teen exited the bus and traveled northward across the east and westbound lanes of the street.
As the teen went across DeBary Avenue near Coventry Estates Boulevard, she allegedly went into the direct path of a 2009 four-door Hyundai vehicle.
The front of the vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old man, struck the teen.
Troopers say the teen was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in serious condition.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
