Prepare to see pink at the 13th annual Pitch for Pink event Friday night at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, where the Threshers take on the Florida Fire Frogs of Kissimmee.

To honor breast cancer survivors, Threshers players will wear special pink jerseys, which will be autographed and auctioned off in a silent auction with autographed pink bats, gift certificates and spa packages.

The first 1,000 women through the gate will receive a commemorative Pitch for Pink identity safe wallet.

The event is a way to increase community awareness about the importance of early detection and to raise funds to help support the breast health services and programs at Morton Plant Mease Hospital.

More than $290,000 has been raised through Pitch for Pink in the past 12 years.

Survivors of breast cancer will walk the bases at 6 p.m. The game will start at 6:15 p.m. Fireworks will take place after the game.

Tickets for the Pitch for Pink event are $6, $8 and $10. To buy tickets, go to ThreshersBaseball.com or call 727-467-4457.
