CENTRAL FLORIDA -- Drier air did push into our southern counties Friday, but a good portion of Central Florida still saw quite a few showers and storms.

With the rain and clouds around, temperatures only climbed into the mid to upper 80s for most. Parts of Osceola and Brevard County did make it into the 90s with less rain.

We’ll keep unsettled weather around this weekend with showers and storms possible each day.

Rain will not be as widespread overnight, but there is still a chance for a few showers as we head toward daybreak. Expect mostly cloudy skies as temperatures fall into the mid-70s.

We’ll already have a slight chance for rain as we wake up Saturday morning, but a lot of the activity will hold off until around lunch and into the afternoon hours. Some storms that develop could hold gusty wind and heavy rain.

We’ll see mostly cloudy skies for a good portion of the day, helping to keep temperatures to only around 90 degrees.

Winds will be breezy, between 10-15 mph. Rain chances will be slightly higher Sunday and continue to climb heading into next work week.

Watch for developing storms if heading to the beach or out on the boat.

Winds will also be breezy, so there will be a chop on the water along with a moderate rip current threat.

Tropical Update

All remains quiet in the tropical Atlantic. There are no issues Friday in the Gulf, the Caribbean and the open waters of the Atlantic.

No major activity is expected over the next 5 days.
