CENTRAL FLORIDA -- A few showers developed across inland areas Thursday evening, but the rain has faded away. We’ll see quiet conditions overnight with partly cloudy skies and morning lows in the low to mid 70s.

Friday is on track to feature better rain chances. More moisture will work into the region, resulting in a better chance for showers and storms. The best chance for activity will be in the PM hours. Highs to close the work week will be in the low to mid 90s.

The weekend still looks to feature plenty of warmth and scattered storms. We’ll see sun and clouds for Saturday, with scattered showers and storms developing in the afternoon. Highs for Saturday will be in the low 90s.

Slightly better rain chances are expected for Sunday, with again the best chance after the midday hours. Highs for Sunday will be in the low 90s.

The decent rain chances will continue to start next week. Expect scattered showers and storms to develop on Monday, with highs in the low 90s.

Slightly lower rain chances are expected for the middle and end of next week, but mainly locations will see activity. Temps will hold next week in the low 90s.

Tropical Update

In the tropics, Chris will remain off the east coast of the United States, accelerating northeast toward the Canadian Maritimes.

Also in the tropics is the remnant moisture from what was once Hurricane Beryl.

It will produce rain over the Bahamas Wednesday, moving north-northeast and staying well east of Florida. There are signs it could re-strengthen in a few days but at that point it will be far from land with no threats to the United States.

No other tropical development is expected over the next two to five days.
