CENTRAL FLORIDA -- Central Florida saw high heat and humidity Tuesday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures reached the mid to low 90s, but felt more like 100 degrees.

The east coast sea breeze quickly moved west, allowing for a few showers, but the majority of the activity was closer to the Gulf Coast.

There’s a slightly higher chance for storms Wednesday, then rain chances really pick up the rest of the week.

Mostly clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Temperatures will be warm and muggy, falling into the mid to low 70s.

After a couple of drier days, moisture will start to move back in Wednesday. Expect partly sunny skies with a slightly higher chance for afternoon storms. Some of those storms could hold gusty wind and frequent lightning.

Temperatures stay hot, reaching the mid to low 90s. Rain chances continue to climb for the end of our work week and into the weekend.

Surf conditions will be flat Wednesday, but slightly choppy with breezy winds. Watch for a moderate rip current threat if heading into the water.

Swimmers in Volusia County stay alert as the jellyfish stings continue. Beach Safety treated more than 550 jellyfish stings Tuesday.

Tropical Update

In the tropics, there are no threats to Florida.

One weak area of low pressure has moved from the western Gulf onto the Texas coastal plain. Regardless of its tropical characteristics, it will still be a big rainmaker for the Lone Star State.

No additional development is expected this week.

Hurricane Season continues through Nov. 30.
