LEESBURG, Fla. -- Troopers have released the names of those involved in a crash on Florida's Turnpike that left a 7-year-old boy dead and several other children in serious condition.

The crash happened at about 1:39 a.m. Saturday near Leesburg in Lake County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was driving a semi truck northbound on the Turnpike in the right lane, along with a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan, when the semi struck the back of the Dodge.

The Grand Caravan struck with the guard rail, and the semi overturned on the outside shoulder. 

Adrian Perez, 7, died at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, troopers said. A 4-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for children in serious condition.

The driver of the Grand Caravan, Natalia Ramirez Martin, 31, was seriously injured, and a passenger, 32-year-old Salvador Hernandez, had minor injuries. They were both transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Everyone in the Grand Caravan were from Fort Pierce.

The driver of the semi, 51-year-old William Irvin Anderson Jr., of West Park in Broward County, was not hurt.

All were wearing seat belts, FHP said.

Charges are pending against Anderson. An investigation is ongoing.
