Showers developed across much of the area Saturday evening, and more rain is expected for the overnight.

  • Expect cloudy skies, showers overnight
  • Higher rain chances continue Sunday
  • Latest on Alberto

Expect mostly cloudy skies with the showers continuing. Overnight lows will be in the low 70s.

High rain chances will continue Sunday as Alberto lifts northward. We’ll see cloudy skies with periods of rain and storms all day long. Some storms could become strong, and the entire area is under a Marginal Risk for severe weather. Highs for Sunday will be in the low 80s.

Memorial Day also looks soggy as moisture from Alberto continues to impact the region. We will again see periods of rain and storms throughout the day, with temps in the low 80s.

Some slightly drier air will work into the area by Tuesday. We will still see plenty of clouds and rain coverage will likely be lower than the holiday weekend. Highs for Tuesday will be in the mid 80s.

Even more dry air arrives for the middle part of next week. This will result in more sunshine but scattered showers and storms will again develop. Highs both days will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Scattered showers and storms are expected to close next week, with temps returning into the low 90s.

Tropical Update

Alberto continues to consolidate and lift northward in the southern Gulf of Mexico. Alberto is still expected to intensify, and Tropical Storm Watches are posted for northern Gulf coast region as well as the Tampa Bay-Sarasota areas. The system is still expected to make landfall on Memorial Day in the northern Gulf coast area.
