CENTRAL FLORIDA -- After some showers and storms earlier Friday, the evening featured some clouds and diminishing showers.

Expect a mostly dry overnight with variable clouds across the area. Overnight lows will be in the low 70s.

Alberto remains a very disorganized system this evening near the Yucatan Peninsula. Tropical Storm Watches are now in effect for the Yucatan, western Cuba and the northern Gulf coast region.

The complex is still expected to become a full tropical storm this evening and will likely make landfall early next week along the northern Gulf coast.

The holiday weekend still looks very unsettled. Alberto will continue to lift north into the Gulf of Mexico, throwing moisture into Florida. Right now, it looks like parts of Saturday will be dry with rain developing in the PM hours. Highs for Saturday will be in the low 80s with breezy conditions.

High rain chances continue for Sunday. Alberto will continue to march northward, keeping clouds and periods of rain into the area. Highs for Sunday will be in the low 80s.

The moisture flow will continue for Memorial Day. We will again see periods of rain and a few storms for much of the day, with gusty southeasterly winds. Highs for the holiday will be in the mid-80s.

Slightly drier air will arrive by Tuesday, but rain chances will continue. Expect partly sunny skies for Tuesday, with a good bet for showers and storms in the PM. Highs for Tuesday will be in the mid-80s.

More dry air will work in by midweek next week, resulting in even lower rain chances. We will see more sun both Wednesday and Thursday, with temps back in the mid to upper 80s.

We’ll likely close next week with a few storms with highs back in the low 90s.

Boaters should expect showers and storms to develop, with seeas 3-5 feet and gusty southeasterly winds. Surfers will find poor conditions Saturday, with a lingering trade swell. The rip current threat will be moderate to start the weekend.
