PALM BAY, Fla. -- A 13-year-old male is facing attempted murder charges after police say he shot two juveniles on Saturday.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Rila Street SE just before 6 p.m. in response to a shooting. There, they found two juveniles with gunshot wounds to the body. 

The victims were transported to local hospitals and are in serious but stable condition, police said. 

The teen suspect was taken into custody a short time after the shooting. 

Officials have not released any info on what caused the shooting.

Police said the neighborhood where the shooting occurred is usually quiet. 

Neighbor Cory Fuller said he was inside his home when he heard a loud noise. 

"We just moved here a couple of days ago, so I though there's no way its gunshots. Then I saw the lights and said, maybe they were gunshots," Fuller said.

Officials said police recovered a handgun from the scene, believed to have been used in the shooting. 

The suspect is also facing charges of occupied burglary and possession of a firearm. Police said additional charges for the suspect and the owner of the gun may be filed. 

The investigation is ongoing.
