A 59-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a semi Thursday in Polk County.

The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. at US 98 North and Rockridge Road in Lakeland.
Deputies said Charles Kimbrough, Jr., was leaving the Circle K store and heading home when a semi truck ran the red light and crashed into Kimbrough's Nissan Altima.
The impact caused the semi to flip onto its side. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Kimbrough was pronounced dead on scene.
The roadway was shut down for four hours as deputies investigated.
So far, no charges have been filed.
