CENTRAL FLORIDA -- Friday was the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures climbing to 93 degrees in Orlando.

Sun mixed at times with higher level clouds again as our upper atmosphere begins welcoming moisture. We’ve pushed highs above seasonable levels with most communities above 90-degrees.

Record highs this time of year are in the mid to upper 90s, so no records were broken. We won’t see much change for Saturday, but temps are expected to remain closer to mid-May levels.

Deep atmospheric moisture streaming north with a developing broad area of low pressure south of us will bring a big pattern change starting Mother’s Day.

Unfortunately, we may see rain enter the picture earlier than anticipated Sunday, so be prepared for indoor activities with Mom. Rain and rumble chances stay at 60 to 70-percent Sunday through Thursday, with highs in the 80s.

We’ll have an east-southeast and east-northeast swell mix in our surf, with wave heights sticking around two to three feet. Overall surfing conditions look poor to fair, although leaning more toward poor.

The moderate threat of rip currents also stays in place into the weekend, so be careful if entering the water. Sea surface temps are in the upper 70s.
