GRANT-VALKARIA, Fla. -- Two Brevard County engineers are getting to be big kids once again, after competing in the latest season of BattleBots.

  • Brevard engineers to compete in BattleBots
  • Sean Irvin and Don Price designed robot 'Ultimo Destructo'
  • Episode will air Friday at 8 p.m.

Sean Irvin and Don Price work for Melbourne based Harris Corporation, and the company has been a team sponsor of the duo for several years.

They designed and built their robot named "Ultimo Destructo" -- a combat chassis with four interchangeable weapon systems.

“It's an arms race to see who can make the strongest weapons, and who can also survive those weapons,” said Sean Irvin, a BattleBots contestant. “You have to decide do I want to be offensive and deliver that hit, or defensive and try and take that hit.”

Irvin got a chance to speak to Stone Middle School students Friday morning about their Battle Bot, and stress the importance of STEM education.

He and Price will be featured on the Discovery Channel show Friday at 8 p.m.
