ORLANDO, Fla. — We saw plenty of sunshine Wednesday with temperatures in the 80s.

  • The 80s stick around
  • Patchy fog possible Thursday morning
  • Friday storm chance

Low pressure responsible for sweeping a front across the area Monday night continues sliding away from the southeastern U.S., and a more settled pattern has moved in through early Friday.

A minor wrinkle in the atmosphere in northern Florida Wednesday provided us patches of clouds, but plenty of sun still boosted us to seasonable levels for highs.

Patchy fog may develop again across western portions of the peninsula, so keep that in mind for the Thursday morning commute. More sun is on tap Thursday afternoon as highs warm into the low to middle 80s.

Another wave in the atmosphere dives south Friday, and may provide us scattered afternoon storms. We’ll keep rain chances at 30-percent for now and adjust as we get closer. Highs remain in the 80s into next week.

An east-southeast swell continues with wave heights running two to three feet, and generally fair to poor surfing conditions.

Sea surface temps have warmed into the lower 70s along the Flagler and Volusia County coast, with mid-70s along Brevard County’s coast.

Thursday’s UV index will be very high, so don’t forget sunscreen and be sure to reapply.
