ORLANDO, Fla. — Drier air filtering in behind a weak front is bringing an end to the unsettled pattern Central Florida has been experiencing the past several days.

  • Seasonable stretch on the way
  • Dry conditions will last through workweek

Low pressure slowly drifting across the Tennessee Valley will slide toward the mid-Atlantic coast overnight. This same system swept a weak front across our area early Tuesday and pushed a drier airmass in that will stick around for the next few days.

Isolated showers popped early Tuesday in southern Osceola and southern Brevard County, but downpours generally stayed across southern Florida.

We’ll keep dry conditions in the forecast through Friday, when another weak front drops in without fanfare. We throw in a 20 percent shower chance Friday evening and keep the upcoming weekend dry.

As a matter of fact, we’re not seeing any big storms systems in the extended forecast. Highs remain right round seasonable levels in the middle 80s, and lows generally in the lower to middle 60s.

We have another great beach day in store Wednesday, with abundant sunshine and warm air. There may even be a round of fair sets in the surf, with wave heights around knee to waist, occasionally chest high and favorable wind overall.

The east-southeast swell is still expected to create a moderate rip current threat, so swim near an open lifeguard stand.
