PINE HILLS, Fla. — A motorcyclist died in a crash on Silver Star Road eastbound at Coast Line Drive east and Pine Hills Road early Monday morning.

At around 3:20 a.m., the driver of the Suzuki motorcycle was going eastbound on Silver Star Road as Rufus Hill, driving a 1998 Ford pickup truck, was traveling westbound on the same road when the truck made a left turn to go south on Coastline Drive, stated the Florida Highway Patrol.
The front of the motorcycle crashed into the right side of Hill's pickup truck and the motorcycle "became completely engulfed in flames," the FHP confirmed.
The DeLand resident's truck caught on fire and parts of the motorcycle were under the truck, he said.
At one point Silver Star Road was closed, but it has since been reopened.
