CENTRAL FLORIDA — It was a warm and muggy Monday with scattered showers and storms.

  • Another chance for showers, storms

Some of the storms held gusty wind and frequent lightning. An approaching front will keep a chance for rain and possibly a storm overnight and early Tuesday before clearing out by mid-week.

Temperatures will not be impacted by this system. Highs were in the mid-80s Monday afternoon and will stay in the mid-80s for the rest of the week.

Widespread showers and storms will come to an end early, but a few showers will stick around overnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies as temperatures fall only into the mid to upper 60s.

The actual front is expected to slide through Tuesday, which will allow for a chance for showers and storms once again. As the front moves south by the afternoon, drier air will begin to move in. We may get to see a little more sunshine before the end of the day. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s.

Sunshine returns in full force Wednesday and sticks around Thursday before a slight chance for showers moves back in on Friday.

Conditions for surfing look good Tuesday, but watch for an elevated rip current threat. Exercise caution if heading out on a boat.
