Casselberry Police say they got a 911 call about five o’clock Tuesday from the mother of the Rooks’ on-again-off-again boyfriend.

In the 911 call, the woman can be heard telling a dispatcher “My son just called me and said mother get over here. I walked in the door she’s laying in the floor. He said he and she got into a quarrel, she hit the wall, then she grabbed her chest and hit the floor.”

It’s unclear why the boyfriend didn’t call 911 before calling his mother over. The dispatcher helped the mother and son perform CPR on Rooks, but she did not survive.

Ale Colon has lived in Summit Village for three decades.

“That’s why I’m in shock,” said Colon. “I haven’t heard of anything like this in 30 years and I’m wondering what’s going on.”

“It’s scary right now, but we’ll have to wait and see what happened,” Colon added.

Jonathan Gravato says he walked his dogs near the home just minutes before police arrived.

“There was police out there, and tape and all that stuff and I was like wow, weird, it’s really weird,” said Gravato.

No one is currently facing any charges in Rooks’ death. But people who live in her community want answers.

“This is a very nice area, a nice place to live and quiet, so I really want to know what’s going on,” Colon said.

Casselberry Police say they’re now waiting on the results of an autopsy to find out more about how the 55-year-old Rooks died.
