A 35-year-old woman was reportedly bitten by a shark Tuesday in Volusia County, the third reported bite of the year.
The bite happened just before 4 p.m. in the area of the 3300 block North in Ormond Beach. The woman, who was visiting from Canada, was bitten on the calf as she jumped off her surfboard in about chest-deep water.
The woman was treated at the scene and transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shark wasn't seen, according to Capt. Tamra Marris, of Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue.
